THE newly-opened Digital Mall is set to take the Klang Valley and Malaysian IT retail market by storm as the largest wholly digital concept mall in Malaysia.
Located in Section 14, Petaling Jaya, Digital Mall offers the latest in computer hardware and software technologies, mobile phones, gadgets and other digital products with its “everything digital under one roof” concept.
Deputy Tourism Minister Datuk Donald Lim officiated at the mall’s grand opening recently, which featured special appearances by popular Hong Kong artistes Kenny Bee, Edward Mok Kai Yiu and Louis Yuen.
Also present during the grand opening were SM Digital Mall Sdn Bhd managing director Seow Yin Loy, SM Digital Mall Sdn Bhd director Eric Seow, Kampung Tunku assemblyman Datuk Dr Wong Sai Hou, as well as Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) councillors Dr Wong Chee Yong, Dr Ng Khek Kiung and Robert Wong.
“We first opened our doors to the public during our soft opening on Aug 9, 2006, and we achieved 100% occupancy within three months,” said Eric.
”We believe that IT should be within reach of every person from all walks of life.
“With the support of the Tourism Ministry and MBPJ, Digital Mall aims to be the ultimate digital mall not only in PJ but also in Selangor and Malaysia.”
Eric added that they were targeting the PJ crowd, and those from nearby areas.
“We're also targeting the school and college/university markets and will hold special promotions during the school holidays,” he said.
The opening ceremony was marked with the beating of Chinese drums, followed by acrobatic lion and dragon dance performances by world champion lion dance troupe, the Kun Seng Keng Lion and Dragon Dance Association.
