The four-storey mall called Kompleks Telekomunikasi TG in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman was officially opened by Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Abdul Hakim Borhan on Wednesday.
The company behind it is SPG TG Telecom Generation Group, a popular mobile phone refurbishing and wholesaler of telecommunication items in Hong Kong.
The mall’s mezzanine and ground floors are designated for the sale of mobile phone and accessories, the second floor for IT-related business while the fourth floor is for technology-related electronic appliances.
The mall is expected to provide small timers an opportunity to venture into mobile phone and IT-related businesses.
SEG TG Malaysia Sdn Bhd managing director Lo Chu Hung said the companydecided to set up the telecommunication mall in Kuala Lumpur after being successful in similar ventures in five major cities in China.
Under the one-roof concept, Lo said, SEG TG was not only providing entrepreneurs with trading lots but also supplying them with the latest mobile phones and equipment.
“We will source and provide our tenants with the latest equipment at a reasonably cheaper price so that they can offer their products at a competitive rate to customers,” he said
The group, he said, aimed at making the mall one of the biggest telecommunication centres in the country.
Meanwhile, Abdul Hakim hoped that the presence of the complex would not only provide a new image to the area but also attract tourists.
